The Big Undoing
I used to sometimes think how wonderful it was that there was an endless supply of inspirational teachers speaking without pause on the internet, Facebook Live, and You tube. I thought it would help us to find peace faster. Maybe this is true, but for many people, surfing the internet for inspiration has become a new form of distraction, even a new form of entertainment. Both of these things can be helpful at times, but it is important to recognize the difference between being engaged transformational work and being entertained.
Sometimes people spend a considerable amount of time both on the internet and travelling around to attend workshops and listen to inspirational speakers in person. And purchasing and consuming transformational-type books. And then become very discouraged because not much that’s new seems to be happening in their world. For some this brings the experience of despair, and a sense of personal failure.
This is a wonderful point of power to arrive at, despite how it can feel. And, if this describes your experience, this is exactly where this journey of yours has been leading all along. Are you ready for the next (big) step?
Your head may feel like it’s crammed with a rat’s nest of concepts, understandings, theories and teachings. You begin to release yourself from all of this when you undertakegentle, consistent experiential work in re-uniting with your own deep internal wisdom. There are many structured ways that to do this, and one way I recommend is to work through the lessons in A Course in Miracles. There are 365 of them - one for each day of the year.
Devotion to the lessons progressively allows the errors in your thinking to be undone and replaced with thoughts that come from your Inner Wisdom. The lessons follow an orderly progression, and all you need to do is do one a day. Do it to the best of your ability and the best of your willingness as instructed through the day. When you get up the next day, do the next one. And keep going until you are done, one day at a time.
What else do you have to do that is worthier of your time, love and devotion for the next year? The joy of getting to know your Self and a year of miracles as you apply your willingness daily is waiting for you. And your life is your own tailor-made curriculum.
